Yes. It's winter. Resistance is futile

Image
A gentle bit of unsolicited advice, stop wishing your life away. This thought was triggered today as I saw yet another post on FB wishing for summer to hurry up and get here. Stop wishing for and "being ready for summer" When we are in resistance to what is (winter), struggle arrives for us. Winter is here. In most parts of Canada or at least where I live we will be in winter until March, with the last flakes of snow leaving us in April. What if you sink into what is. The cozy feel of the long deep nights. The silence a fresh snow fall brings The crisp orange and pink sunrises The large blue sky when the sun is shining as the temperatures drop even further What if you created an ease about your day What if you had a stillness in your body which would mimic the earth, be with the nature around you What if you became the next level of quiet What if you expressed your stillness through wonderful words, either through what you r...

The Post Without Title

Out of my rhythm The white sky has me thrown, when did the sky become winter.  Here in the north the sun shines a lot in the winter, and this is good, while it has little strength - it stills shines - the colour is more white than the fire of the summer. It's white, and seems more quiet in a way. This is alright. I like the seasonal changes, I like to follow rhythms. I am right now in a busy, time, with travel, and my spirit seems to want to settle and to be more white, to be quiet...to still shine, yet in a quiet winter sun sort of way. My travel has me moving between these two energies, the fire of movement, of change and the desire to be in the quiet background, shining. I have been teetering again between what my business is and what I am actually doing. Have you felt this way before? During sessions I deal in the intangible world of energy and intentions, and then I see the results through client success and change. I love what I do, love the interaction with cl...

Speakers Block

Image
Seth Godin says, you can always write a blog, because when you write as you speak, it's easy; because, as he claims, we rarely have 'speaker's block'. I am not so sure. Lately, I haven't had much to say, to share. I have had a great launch to my new service of Coaching via Email- I guess that is something to talk about. Our family has welcomed a new baby into the family, a new grandson for my husband and I - that is something to talk about. Our family has also lost one key member, my mother in law. All of this happened in the same month. August. So August was full on with emotions, the fullness of life as it were. The sadness and the gladness. It was bitter sweet to lose our Mother (in law), she had been unwell, and at the end in a bit of distress. So, of course, we didn't want her to linger in the sorrow of pain and distress.  She was happy to say farewell, she knew who was waiting for her on the other side. I also wonder now if she had a ch...

What daily choices move your toward your happiness?

What are actively doing to create the life you want? Are you making conscious decisions to live your best life possible? Are you following through with these decisions (big step 😀 ) When the obstacles arrive (and they always arrive), what are you doing with them? Obstacles can be perceived outside judgments, not 'feeling' like it, perceived lack of time, lack of resources, the list goes on, mostly in my experience of listening to obstacles they sound very similar to excuses. Do you stop or do you keep going?  Do you shake off the obstacle, climb over it, go around it, modify it? So what are you actively doing daily to create the life you want? What ideas and actions do you have lined up to support you when the obstacles show up?  How will you manage them? Become active in your life, and your choices. When you choose, remember why you made the choice in the first place, this may be helpful when the obstacle shows up.  Choices are usually made to either mov...

Surround yourself with Happiness

Not sure how to bring happiness in your life? Well, firstly, I believe we are born to be happy - and as such we then can extend our love to serve the world - lifting and supporting others. I look around my home and I would say, yes, everything in my view brings me happiness, my books, a bracelet a friend gave me, our granddaughter's puzzle, fuzzy slippers which I wear to the hot tub, my hubby on his computer in the kitchen (I'm on my chrome book in the living room). I have mentioned things - however I feel the life of these things, the actions of them, the being in relationship with them. For example, books bring happiness for me; well because they are filled with words, images which spark ideas, which ignites the desire for me to share = happiness How do you surround yourself with happiness?  Look around from where you are right now, can you sense your happiness? If you have something in your world, within view and it doesn't spark a twinge of joy, happiness or love ...

Get Dressed. Show Up

Get dressed. Show up. For the past two weeks I have been involved in self experiment of sorts; getting dressed. Now, don't get me wrong, I get dressed most days.  In the recent past, there were days pajamas were the attire for the whole day. Pajama day.  Easy, relaxing and comfy. These days, I'm on a bit of a roll with changing my habits.  I have been working with myself to change the way I move in the world, and it occurred to me getting dressed first thing may be an easy change to do. I thought it would be uncomfortable and I wouldn't like it. Since I love quiet reflective mornings I figured my pajamas were the perfect costume for this. I was mistaken. Being ready to create the day is more in my style it seems. It has been very easy in fact - getting up and getting dressed right away has lead me to more productive days. As I consider - it's possibly because I get up, get dressed and begin - the day has started - and since I am already dressed, there is...

Wonderful words from John O'Donohue

This morning I am moved by these words: "There are no manuals for the construction of the individual you would like to become. You are the only one who can decide this and take up the lifetime of work that it demands. This is such a wonderful privilege and such an exciting adventure. To grow into the person that your deepest longing desires is a great blessing. If you can find a creative harmony between your soul and your life, you will have found something infinitely precious. You may not be able to much about the great problems of the world or change the situation you are in, but if you can awaken the eternal beauty and light of your soul, then you will bring light where you go. The gift of life is given to us for ourselves and also to bring peace, courage and compassion to others."
